PP146 Thank You Card DD53

I have to admit that it's been a while since I really felt some crafty mojo. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, crafty mojo (for me) means that as I first wake up, a vision of a card or scrapbook project pops into my head. I have really missed that.

So on Sunday, it paid me a visit. Then, when I started scrolling through my blog reader, I saw 2 challenges that would work perfectly with my vision. (Happy sigh.)

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
1. The Paper Players PP146 Challenge
2. Dynamic Duos DD#53 Challenge

Recipe:
Paper: Dakota, White Daisy CS, Black CS, Pacifica CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Thoughtful Tidings (CTMH)
Inks: Black (CTMH)
Tools: Paper-Piercer, Scissors, Sponge, Cricut Art Philosopy Cartridge (CTMH), Argyle Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Scallop Border Punch (SU!)
Other: Ribbon (American Crafts), Pearls (CTMH), Foam Tape

I am always running out of thank you cards, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. We should always find something to be thankful for, no matter how tough life can be sometimes. Today, I am thankful that my crafty mojo has returned and for all the great friends I have met through my blog, as well as CTMH. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by.

Chantilly Card Workshop

Hello, again. I'm back, as promised, with 19 cards to share from the Chantilly Card Workshop kit. I was a bit skeptical, at first, like some of you may be over the price point of a workshop on the go card kit. Once tax and shipping were added in, it would be well over $2 per card. Well...I was able to create 19 cards using this kit, so that brought my total per card down to just $1.79. Plus, I had leftover ribbon, additional B&T paper, and a stamp set to use again (and again).

My customers loved this kit and were very happy with the designs. Although I didn't get pictures of their creations, each person created something unique from their kits, including my genius decision (insert pat on back here, if you please) to emboss the blue squares for the "patchwork card". I pulled out an additional stamp set "For Every Occasion" that some of my ladies used to create thank you cards from the kit, instead of strictly birthday cards. They even used smoothie and hollyhock inks in place of the sunset orange, at times, along with flipping over the green paper to the flowery side. It never ceases to amaze me how creative my customers are.

So, here is a quick picture of the Chantilly Cards that Corporate created.
G1061 Chantilly Card Workshop Kit $29.95
I liked the designs so well, that most of mine are created pretty similar, with the exception of the birthday card cake where I added Hollyhock ink instead of Sunset. One of the variations that my customers did with that card, was to second generation ink the banners. They were so cute! I'm a proud teacher.

After the Lagoon squares were cut, we had a 9x12 piece of Lagoon cardstock left over. By cutting this cardstock vertically at 4 1/4" by 11", I was able to create 2 additional card bases. Then, peaking into my kit, I discovered happily that I still had a full sheet of B&T Duos paper and one sheet of white cardstock. This inspired me to create 2 more cards from the kit.

So there you have it. I am one happy customer and have restocked my birthday card stash with cards that work wonderfully for any gender and age group. AWESOME!

Hope you have a great day!

H2H Post for NSM2013

In terms of a favorite holiday, I would always say Christmas is my favorite. However, one that allows me to let loose in my creativity...now that's pretty special. Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Today, over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges, we are allowed to share a post of a past or present layout we've created. One of my recent favorites was one I created last Fall using Dakota papers. It is my favorite because of the happy day I spent with my kids on what would be the last warm day we had in 2012. Looking at those pictures reminds me of the special adventure we took out back behind our house. It was such a simple day, really, but oh so special to me.
You can see the original post here.

Hope you are able to get some craft time in today to help celebrate NSM! If you would like to participate in this H2H challenge, please follow this link. Thanks for stopping by.

May Promotions

Hi! You have probably been wondering where I've been for the past three months. This winter was a bit rougher than most for my family. My mother was involved in another serious car crash at the end of January. She spent many days in the hospital off and on for the better part of a month, and had to have two surgeries on her shoulder. Mom is now doing physical therapy to help regain full use of her left shoulder.

I spent most of my winter not feeling well and needing extra rest time. Now that Spring has arrived, I am doing much better and am enjoying our sunny days with 70 degree weather. Hard to believe that here in Northern Michigan, just one week ago, we had fresh snow on the ground. Now, the grass is greening up nicely, and one of our favorite past times is quickly approaching...morel mushroom hunting. I will share a little something my Grandma taught me when I was very little and first learning to hunt for mushrooms. "Walk softly and whisper so the mushrooms can't hear you and hide." This lesson has served me well over the years, and always brings a smile to my face whenever I think of it. Grandma was a lovely person, inside and out, and very much missed.

Now, onto some exciting promotional news from Close To My Heart. First up, we have our stamp of the month promotion...Pinwheel.
S1305A
This is one of my favorite stamp of the month sets in the current catalog. Takes all the guess work out of creating a fun pinwheel image. Spend $50 and get this awesome stamp set for just $5!

Next up, we have a wonderful campaign going for the entire month of May to help you celebrate National Scrapbooking Month!
Like the picture says, you can get this exclusive Dream Pop paper packet for only $10 when you spend $35! The colors and patterns are bright and vivid and perfect for your Spring/Summer photo's. Included in this kit are 12 cardstock sheets and 12 B&T Duos papers.

I will be back in a few days with some new cards I recently created using the Chantilly card workshop kit. Last Sunday was full of fun and laughter as we played with this fabulous card kit. You won't want to miss seeing what we came up with.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
