Please Note: If you have any of the cardstock or embellishments already (retired paper flowers or other pearls and sparkles will work just fine; even waxy flax will work in lieu of baker's twine), please add items accordingly. One more thing, if you want to stamp your flowers in place of using paper flowers, I will have a few stamps at the workshop that you may use.

Lucy Spring Layout #3

Here is my third and final layout that we will be creating with Lucy.

I decided ultimately to keep this layout a bit more generic in theme in case my customers wanted to use everyday photo's. Aren't zip strips fun? They were the perfect accent.

Inspiration was found in two places, actually. First, using the Love Life Stamp inspiration came from Scraptabulous Studio. Second, the overall template inspiration came from Sketch Support.

I believe that there would be enough blush cardstock to use as bases, and pattern paper could be used where you see the blush pink cardstock. Some of my cricut cuts were guesses yesterday and I didn't have quite as much left as you should have. I have been pre-cutting layouts for my customers for most of my workshops. For this workshop, my attendee's will be cutting their own papers to allow more creative freedom.

Please see Sketch Support link above for photo sizes, but in general, you could bring six 4x6 photo's to attach. Also, if you would prefer to change up the colors a bit, you could bring some blue (light to medium in color) cardstock with you, or any color that you think would be pretty with the sweet leaf B&T paper.

This layout is the real reason I decided to do a Lucy Workshop. My daughter's birthday is just before Mother's Day, and I recently bought her a beautiful patchwork seersucker dress from Gymboree. It has a matching lavender sun bonnet with butterflies embroidered on it. I'm having a moment of disbelief that my baby is going to be 4 in just six weeks....

I used the blush cardstock that came in the kit for the photo mats, but this could be saved to use as bases for the last layout I will be showcasing tomorrow. (If you attend my workshop, please bring some scrap cardstock or printer paper to use in these locations.)

There is one more thing I would like to point out, if you do not like the purple on this layout, and would like to switch it to one of the other colors in the kit, we can do that. I have Sweet Leaf and Smoothie in bulk sheets. The opposite side of the sweet leaf B&T paper is a pretty yellow floral paper. By turning that over, you could have a completely different look to this layout. I love our new B&T paper and it's awesome versatility.

Lucy Easter Layout #1

Good morning! I am so excited to share my first Lucy layout with you. I am really into pennants right now, so when I came across a layout on Pinterest that uses fun pennants, I just had to see how Lucy would look with it. I can tell you that at least 2 hours went into figuring out dimensions before I made a single cut. My notes are quite scattered at the moment. LOL

For the Love of Lucy

Today, I worked on my Lucy layouts...and when I say today, I mean all day. I am grateful to my little girl for being so patient with me as I balanced household chores and mama duties along with my crafty fun. Based on my daughter's response to these layouts, they are "very pretty". 

As was the case with Cruisin', some of the busy patterns made me nervous with this kit. Ironically, when I started fanning the papers out to decide what color scheme I wanted to use, the busier sides of certain papers actually worked better. I also hadn't realized how similar our Cotton Candy and Blush colors were.

I added in some Colonial White, Petal, Smoothie and Creme Brulee cardstock to create my layouts. 

Tonight, I only have enough time to share a few sneak peeks with you. I promise to share more detailed views with you in the coming days. 

I know I've said it before, but I will say it again...I love Pinterest! If you aren't pinning, what are you waiting for?! It's awesome.

Elemental Goody Bags

On Saturday, I held my first big all-day crop. People in attendance each received the following goody bag as my thank you for participating.

Thank you, Kelly, for helping me put these adorable bags together. I found inspiration for this project on Page 30 of the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book. The bag was cut at 6" on the Cricut.

Each participant received a skein of chocolate embroidery floss, a spool of coordinating ribbon, an adhesive spring and some chocolate, plus the fun goody bag itself.

Cruisin' to Coolsville Layout

Today, I would like to share with you my last Cruisin' layout.

I found inspiration for this layout at Scrapbook Generation's blog. I am a real fan of being able to use 4x6 photo's on my layouts. The cost is quite economical and most of us tend to buy our prints in 4x6 size.

The original layout sketch that I used has (1) 4x4 photo, (1) 4x6 photo and (8) 3x3 photo's. Since I wasn't sure if I honestly had 10 photo's to use, I decided to change mine to 4x6 size (in the vertical juniper section). I love the flexibility that this sketch allows for number of photo's. I may decide to add my journaling to one of the photo mats.

You can see the original sketch here. I asked my husband what he thought about this layout, and was surprised at what he had to say. He loved the cranberry stripes at the top...said they reminded him of the old 50's diners. Since this paper is reminiscent of that time period (in my opinion), it was an awesome thing to hear. He rarely has much to say about my scrapbook layouts, so this was a really exciting moment for me. Those of you that share my love for this wonderful hobby can probably relate. :)

After creating the 3 layouts that I've shown you, I have 1 full sheet of B&T paper left, along with some smaller scrap and (2) sheets of grey wool cardstock. I plan to create at least one more layout for my personal use and have decided that my attendee's should have the same option to get creative with the remaining pieces from their kits.
