Latest Happenings

Good afternoon. This has been a busy month of transition for our family. It is also the reason for my lack of creativity lately.

My daughter will begin preschool next week, and we are so excited for her to have this amazing opportunity. She is very excited.

Jack is settling into the kindergarten groove, and we are now (thankfully) seeing less homework. LOL He likes to tell everyone "I'm in kindergarten....I'm 5." This is usually demonstrated with a hand showing 5 fingers. Hehe.

We are now 9 weeks pregnant, and early pregnancy symptoms have hit me full-force. It helps knowing that this part will be over soon and in the end it will all be worth it.

I have been finding myself relying more heavily on my faith, lately. God has blessed our family in so many ways, and we have met so many wonderful friends along the way.

So I wanted to take a quick moment to say hello. I hope you are all well and enjoying this beautiful Indian Summer we've been blessed with. Have a wonderful day!

Sonoma "Be You" Layout

Hello! It has been a very busy couple of weeks in the Bennett Household. My son started kindergarten last Wednesday.

Saturday marked my first-ever all day crop event; we had a wonderful time. I had 3 terrific friends show up to support me, and taught my scrapbook workshop twice in one day. I am feeling much more comfortable with my teaching abilities now.

So...I have a sweet little girl layout to share with you.

My daughter loves to pose for photo's, especially if she's wearing a pretty dress. I even managed to get a sweet picture of both kids together. I was so excited to finally have a use for Sonoma's beautiful papers, and of course, I couldn't resist a bunch of fun stitching. It really gives a finished quality to this layout.

Dreamin' and Typeset Cards

Good evening! I hope your Labor Day weekend was nice.

We spent last weekend enjoying our last camping trip of the season. Monday, after we got home, my husband started carrying everything back in to the house (including about 6 loads of laundry). Our pantry is full to bursting now. But the camper is all set to be winterized for the season.

One bit of nostalgia for me, is thinking about how this was our last camping trip as a family of 4. The next time we go out, we will have to pack a play pen, bottles, formula, diapers, stroller, etc. It's so hard to believe that a tiny newborn requires so many things.

My son Jack started kindergarten yesterday. I didn't have time for tears as my firstborn baby started on his journey; I was too busy trying to console his baby sister. She cried and clung to me as I dropped her off at daycare (by herself). Izzy kept saying "I want my Jack Jack. I just miss him so much." Awe....

Well, now it's time to share a few of my latest projects with you.

First of all, we have a card made with Dreamin'. Love this paper.

And here is a thank you card that I made with Typeset and the Art Philosophy cartridge bundle.

And a bonus card that I made a while back using Lucky, but forgot to post a copy of:

Hope you all are having a wonderful week back to school and back to work. :)

Balancing Act

Good morning!

I am a happy follower of Jeanette Lynton's blog. It is a wonderful and inspirational blog, both creatively and uplifting. She truly is an amazing woman and someone that I admire greatly.

Last week, Ms. Lynton had a Q&A posted where we could ask her a question, anything that we might be curious about, and as some of you already know, we are expecting again. It has rather taken over my life at the present time. So below is my question to Ms. Lynton:

Question: We have just found out that we will be having baby #3 in the Spring. This is one of those unexpected pleasant surprises. I just signed up to be a consultant back in May when your company ran that wonderful sign-up promotion, so I'm pretty new. Knowing that you have 4 children, my question is this: How do you balance your career with family life? --submitted by Casandra, August 29, 12:55 pm
Click here to read what Ms. Lynton, the CEO of Close To My Heart, had to say in response to my question.

I feel so honored and blessed to have received such a heartfelt response, and it has made me feel better about the direction that my life is taking, these days. I am so happy to be able to share this story with all of you.

Have a blessed day!
