Easter Bunny Card

I'm jumping the gun a bit here with this next card. During the month of February, we have a fun stamp of the month set aptly titled "Easter Bunny".

Recipe:
Paper: Hello Lovely, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Easter Bunny (CTMH)
Inks: Juniper (CTMH), Black (Memento)
Tools: ShinHan Alcohol Markers, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer, Glue Pen (CTMH)
Other: Grey Enamel Gems (CTMH)

I think because the ink lines are just a bit wider for this stamp, it allowed the ink to fuzz just a bit when applying color with the alcohol markers. In any case, I will likely just use clear embossing powder to heat set the rest of my images with this particular stamp set. I prefer embossed images, anyway. (Much easier to stay in the lines with, too!)

Easter always seems to sneak up on me before I'm quite ready for it, so I wanted to get a jump on a couple of prototypes for my cards, this year. Isn't that bunny just the sweetest?

Have a great day!

A Beehive Card

I really can't take credit for this next card. It was scraplifted from one I saw on Pinterest. The original was created by Marlene.

Recipe:
Paper: Paper Fundamentals Whimsy (retired), Chocolate CS, Glacier CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Tools: Cricut Create A Critter, Micro-Tip Scissors, Chalk Pen, Glue Pen (CTMH)
Other: 3d Foam Tape, Smoothie Bakers Twine (retired) (CTMH)

I created this card as another prototype for my son's Valentines this year. He also declined to use it. I thought it would be different than everyone else's, but he doesn't like to be different, I guess. Hornets are the school's logo, too. Pfft. Oh well. You can guess what I will be doing for the next couple of weeks....

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your weekend is crafty!

Koala Cutie It's Your Day Card

If you like koala bears, you will like this next card. Also, be sure to check out 2 other cards I made with this set earlier in the month (January, 2017).

Recipe:
Paper: Dreamin' Big, Black CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Cute Koalas, Flower Market sentiments (CTMH)
Inks: Black (Memento), Juniper (CTMH)
Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Glue Pen, Shinhan Alcohol Markers (CTMH)
Other: Clear Sparklers (CTMH)

I love this paper from the Dreamin' Big collection. There is so much you can do with it. I picture baby, boy, girl, zoo, bug, and outdoors themes. In fact, I plan to use it to scrap some vacation pictures from our trip to Busch Gardens and Billy Swamp Safari last winter.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope your day is crafty.

Dreamin Big Koala Card

I was inspired by artwork that is featured in the current Seasonal Expressions 1 book. I do not own the stamp set they used, but as I sat looking at it, I thought that my koala stamp set would fit it perfectly.

Recipe:
Paper: Dreamin' Big, Enchantment Paper Fundamentals, Hello Lovely, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Cute Koalas (retired), Finding the Words (CTMH)
Inks: Juniper, Black (CTMH)
Tools: Shinhan Alcohol Markers, Glue Pen, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer (CTMH)
Other: Grey Enamel Gems (CTMH)

I wish that this stamp set wasn't retired. I've used it a couple of times already. It reminds me of my favorite stuffed animal I had as a baby...a fuzzy koala bear that had felt tip ears and paws. It was pretty ragged after so many years, and my parents lost it in a move years back. But I still carry the memory of it.

Stay tuned for another card tomorrow with this same stamp set.

NBUS9 Valentine Card

Good morning. I hope that I can continue to inspire you. I have been finding time, mostly on the weekends, to craft.

Today, I would like to share with you a Valentine's Day card I created as a proto-type for my daughter's class. However, the response in her words: "Mom, we did cats last year." Sigh. Cats are so last year. 8 years old....

Recipe:
Paper: Happy Times (retired), Slate CS, White Daisy CS, Blush CS (retired), Hollyhock CS (retired), Whisper CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Friendly Pets (retired) (CTMH)
Ink: Black (Memento)
Tools: Cricut Art Philosophy, Cricut Create A Critter, Micro-Tip Scissors, Glue Pen (CTMH)
Other: 3d Foam Tape (CTMH)

I have not used this cat image before, but thought it would be fun to combine a cricut cut with a stamped sentiment. I also just cut into that patterned paper with the gold foil print.

It's probably just as well that she declined this as her classroom cards; it would have been terribly time consuming.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day.

Hello Some Kinda Wonderful Layout

I scraplifted this from next page from a layout featured in the current Seasonal Expressions. Since I used some of the embellishments already, I decided to use my Cricut to cut out the hearts and the title. You may not have even noticed.

I had scraps left from Some Kinda Wonderful, so I decided to add in the paper fundamentals blue dot design. This page will work with just about any theme. In case you are wondering, I cut the circle at 9", and then did my best to center it just before cutting. Maybe there's a feature on the Explore that allows me to center, but I didn't want to take the time to find it. I then hand-stitched around the circle. I really like how it turned out.

Happy crafting!

Baby Shower Welcome Baby Layout

Here is the final page in the baby shower album I created for my brother and sister-in-law. After much debate about how I should end the book, I decided that it would be fun to include a picture of baby after she is born. That way, years from now, she will know how she was celebrated.

This page was inspired by a layout featured in the 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations book. Instead of elephants, I used the owls we decorated the shower with. I cut the banner in Cricut Design Space and glued them together. "Welcome" was stamped with a retired Hello Life stamp set I bought last year. I just love how this turned out.

Thanks for following me on this journey. I'm sure you will see Baby Lauren featured again this year. :)

TSOT305 Friend Card

Hello. How is your Saturday going? We are all snuggled in here with warmer than average temperatures for this time of year.

I am back again today with another post featuring a card.

Recipe:
Paper: Adventure Paper Fundamentals, Whimsy Paper Fundamentals, Dreamin' Big, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Hello Life Cardmaking (retired) (CTMH)
Inks: Raspberry, Black (CTMH)
Tools: Paper Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH)
Other: Bitty Sparkles, Aqua Shimmer Trim (CTMH)

I would like to enter this into the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #305. It looks like the challenge ends on January 30th. Be sure to check it out and play along if you can.

Have a great day.

Baby Shower Glam Baby Layout

I started running out of paper that came with the kit, but was inspired to grab our paper fundamentals in the same colors and/or designs. I think it blended nicely, and unless you are a CTMH enthusiast, I don't think you would even know.

A friend of the family made a special bucket for my brother. It included things like tylenol, and energy drinks, and I think there was a wooden clothes pin he could use when changing diapers. LOL

This is the last 2-page layout in the baby shower album. Tomorrow, I will share with you the last page.

MOJO480 Hello Card

Hello, again. I'm back with another blog post today. This time features a card.

Recipe:
Paper: Whimsy Paper Fundamentals, Hello Lovely, Whisper CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Sugar Rush Cardmaking, Just to Say (CTMH)
Inks: Sorbet, Poppy (CTMH), Black (Memento)
Tools: Sugar Rush Cardmaking Thin Cuts, Simple Chevron Embossing Folder, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Cricut Artistry (CTMH)
Other: 3d  Foam Tape, Aqua Shimmer Trim, Grey Sequins (CTMH)

Last weekend, my January order arrived and I finally found time to play with the donut stamp and die bundle. I cut the coffee cup using the Artistry Cricut Cartridge. I cut a second full cup in white cardstock and trimmed off the excess to create a lid for added dimension.

Funny, but as I'm sitting here looking at this card again, I totally see X's and O's. My daughter loves it and wants me to make these for her class. Not so sure mama has it in her to recreate that many! ;)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

3) MFT Color Challenge 61 (I used Poppy, Sorbet, Glacier and Whisper Grey.)

Thank you for stopping by. I hope your weekend is crafty.

Baby Shower Made With Love Layout

When Jaime opened up these special quilts from our Aunt, I knew that I had to capture the moment on camera. Aunt Barb made a baby size quilt for the crib/toddler bed, and then she made 2 twin size quilts so that baby and big sister each got one.

I know that Jaime was touched by it, as was my brother, and honestly everyone that was in attendance. I searched for just the right title and embellishment within Cricut Design Space. After cutting out the pieces and gluing them together with my glue pen, I got out my white chalk marker and added some dots to the title to dress it up just a bit.

I picked up a sketch that worked with my photos best. Perfect!

Hope your day is a crafty one.

Baby Shower Happy Day Layout

Jaime got some really cute things for the baby. There was a Princess sign that she could hang little outfits and accessories on, and soft baby blankets, an exersaucer, a christening gown, and many other wonderful items.

It truly was a happy day.

Baby Shower Friends Layout

On the day of the shower, we had gorgeous weather. Beautiful and sunny, and in the high 60's. Unheard of in Northern Michigan on a November day. We rented a space at a local golf and country club for the event, and since we knew the owners, the kids were able to play in the pool room as well as on the deck outside the room we used. It was so nice.

I thought the "friends" title worked perfectly for this layout. The complements once again paired nicely with this kit. Love when that happens.

Stay tuned....

Baby Shower #hello happy Layout

Hello happy. I thought that was so fitting for this next layout I made for the baby shower album. My niece was so excited to have friends at the party she thought was a birthday party for her baby sister.

I love that Close To My Heart has "zip strips". These are included with each 12x12 sheet of paper, and you can purchase them in just a paper pack or in a workshop kit. It's hard to see from the picture, but the black embellishments are die cuts made of black glitter cardstock. While the ladies were dressed totally glam, this fun paper matches the fun personalities of each person.

Check back again tomorrow for the next layout.

Baby Shower #today Layout

So I went to Pinterest the day I began scrapbooking baby shower pictures. Surprisingly, there is little to no inspiration out there. After scrolling for about a 1/2 hour, I decided that I was just going to start scrapbooking the pictures and see what worked for embellishing after. As it turned out, I found that the matching complements included in this kit would work just fine.

My sister-in-law grew up with technology, and really likes her Apple products, such as Iphone, Ipad, etc. She has an Instagram account, too, like me. So I thought the hash tags totally fit her personality. Jaime has that expecting mama glow about her and never takes a bad picture...like seriously. I was so pleased that these family pictures I got of her turned out so nice. They are sure to be a treasure for years to come.

Be sure to check back tomorrow, for the next layout in the book.

Baby Shower Page 1

Over Winter Break, I had pictures printed off that I took at my sister-in-law's baby shower. I found that having the pictures in hand before I began scrapbooking the event was a big help. I was able to use the photos in groupings to best tell the story of the day.

I basically scraplifted this layout from our current Seasonal Expressions. Because this is the title page of the book, I searched Cricut Design Space for Baby Shower images. When I saw this umbrella image, I was immediately drawn to it. If you don't have a Cricut Explore, I encourage you to consider one when putting together a craft budget. It's so worth it. It cuts with laser-like precision. And Design Space is free for 30 days after purchase. I've had mine now for a year, so I purchased a monthly subscription that I can cancel at any time.

Happy crafting!

Pinterest Inspired Hello Lovely Card

I did a search on Pinterest, the other day, for ice cream cards. I came across a pretty card created by Stephanie Pike. I was inspired to create the following card. Thanks, Stephanie. Your artwork is gorgeous.

I used some retired washi and sequins from my stash to embellish, and even an embossing folder to give the ice cream some dimension. The ice cream and popcicle images were created in Design Space. I slice a 1" strip off the front of the card so you can see the green paper glued to the inside.

Found out something interesting while creating this card. LOL My dog freaks out when I use the embossing tool. I don't know if it's the sound that it puts off, or if the embossing powder has a smell that freaks him out, but he paces with his ears down, and jumps nervously whenever I look at him with the heat gun in hand. Whatever...he's silly.

Anyways, I hope that I've inspired you to use up some scraps, or dust off your cricut.

Happy crafting!

LTSCB#93 Birthday Card

The following card was created with some scraps I had left over and sitting out on my desk. For those of you with a trained eye, you will notice a combination of papers that can be found in the current Seasonal Expressions from Close To My Heart.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I used liquid glass on the cherry to give it some shine. The ice cream sundae image was created in Design Space. Yum!

Paper Play #28 Sugar Rush Card

I pinned a sketch recently from Paper Play Sketches, but ran out of time to play before the challenge ended. So I'm posting just for the fun of it today.

Recipe:
Paper: Sugar Rush, Whisper CS, White Daisy CS, Sea Glass CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Ice Cream Dream, Artfully Sent (retired) (CTMH)
Ink: Black (Memento)
Tools: Oval Dies (Spellbinder), Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Shinhan Markers, Heat Gun, Clear Embossing Powder)
Other: Brads (retired), 3d Foam Tape (CTMH)

I like having universal cards on hand for sending whenever something pops up unexpectedly, or a whim hits me.

Love those lashes layout

I am interrupting the card parade to show you a scrapbook page I created from the Some Kinda Wonderful kit. I had an 8x12 piece of the eyelash paper left and was trying to find the best way to utilize it. Not sure I'm happy with the results, but I will let you decide.

I think once the photo is in place, it will help. In hindsight, I would have stamped the title in a different color, but after stamping and cutting them out by hand, I wasn't up for that challenge. LOL I will say it is in cuter in person. The lighting sort of washed out the color in the picture. I did add pop dots to the title to give it more depth, as well.

(I just can't get enough of those owls!)

Happy crafting!

Typewriter Cards

I think today I am showing you the last of the cards I created on New Year's Day.

I used an MFT sketch for this one (you may recognize it from an earlier snowman card post). Funny how you can get so many different looks from one sketch, just by switching out paper and stamped images/die cuts.

Again, the theme was using up scraps that were on my desk already. I love that blue polka dot paper. I had some scraps left over from the baby shower album I was working on and that's where the grey chevron paper came from. I stamped the typewriter in retired Pear ink. Love these cards! Perfect for male or female.

Hope your day is a crafty one. Thanks for stopping by.

Share the Love Phone Card

This next card is super fun. I liked it so much that I made a batch of 10!

I stamped the phone image 3 times, and layered the pieces. I like how it gives it more depth. The "hello" sentiment was stamped on a tiny scrap that I would have thrown away, otherwise. I may use these cards for my Valentine's, this year.

P.S. I'm still getting the hang of our new ink pads (Close To My Heart). They have a magnetic closure, and if I don't line them up just right, it can be messy. But practice makes perfect.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

CTS#203 Birthday Blast Card

Hello, again. I'm happy to share that my mojo has returned. Each time it goes away, I'm sad. It is usually slow to return, and I end up making a few failed attempts before the mojo comes back.

So this next card was inspired, in equal parts, by a couple of current challenges, as well as the constellation paper included in the new "Dreamin' Big" collection from Close To My Heart.

Recipe:
Paper: Dreamin' Big, Hello Lovely, Peacock CS, Whisper CS, Black CS, White Daisy CS, Glacier CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Birthday Blast (retired) (CTMH)
Ink: VersaMark, Black (Memento)
Tools: Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Glue Pen (CTMH), Cricut Design Space
Other: Gold Shimmer Trim (CTMH), 3d Foam Tape (CTMH), Silver Stars (Jo-Ann Fabrics)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

1) Case this Sketch CTS#203
2) Seize the Birthday "Anthing Goes"
3) Heart 2 Heart "Silver and Gold"

The rocket and moon, stars and cloud images were created in Cricut Design Space. I signed up for Cricut Access. It's perfect when I don't have a certain image among my stamp sets.

Happy crafting!

Animal Greetings Card

Good morning. I am back with another card created with the Some Kinda Wonderful kit. Can you see a "pattern" here? Too soon? Sorry....

Who can resist a cute little pig? I made this card to send to relatives that show 4H animals, mainly pigs.

I have been getting my scrap on, these past 2 weeks. It's been A-maz-ing. I organized pages that were missing photos, added photos to layouts, made a baby shower album, a ton of cards to rebuild my depleted stash, and put layouts in albums by date. However, the whole sleep thing has been getting a dent put in it. And this next week, I need to get serious about getting taxes done. But I will enjoy my crafty bliss as much as possible until then.

Have a terrific week!

FMS269 Sugar Rush Card

Hi. This is the last post for today, which catches me up on all the current challenges that will be expiring soon.

Without further ado, here is another card I created with the Sugar Rush collection.

Recipe:
Paper: Sugar Rush, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Ice Cream Dream (retired) (CTMH)
Ink: Black (Memento)
Tools: Circle Die (MFT), Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Shinhan Markers, Glue Pen (CTMH)
Other: Brads (retired), 3d Foam Tape (CTMH)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

1) Freshly Made Sketches FMS269
2) Between the Folds Challenge 37A - Sugar Rush

Here's a little inside story on this card. I was using up tiny scraps and that pomegranate piece is actually 2 scraps that I joined behind the circle shape. You can't tell. I also used a PML card from the Sugar Rush kit, and it inspired me to use the Freshly Made Sketches sketch, but flipped sideways.

Happy crafting!

MFTWSC314 Sugar Rush Card

I'm sharing another card I created with the sweet Sugar Rush collection.

Recipe:
Paper: Sugar Rush, Sea Glass CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Flower Market, Ice Cream Dream (CTMH)
Inks: VersaMark, Black (Memento)
Tools: Shinhan Markers, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Heat Gun, White Embossing Powder (CTMH)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

1) My Favorite Things MFTWSC314
2) Love to Scrap Challenge LTSCB#93
3) Between the Folds Challenge 37A - Sugar Rush

My daughter's favorite dessert is ice cream. Every day, when she gets home from school, she asks for ice cream. I have been buying smaller size treats so she doesn't overindulge, but it's hard to tell her no when I love it, too.

Happy crafting!

TMS384 Sugar Rush Birthday Card

Today, I would like to share with you a card I created with the new (and popular) Sugar Rush collection from Close To My Heart. I am currently awaiting an order that has a donut die cut bundle (matching stamp and dies) in it. I remember seeing a donut shape on our Artistry cricut cartridge so I quickly opened up Design Space and searched for donut. The more I use my cricut explore air, the more I love it.

Here's the first card I made with Sugar Rush:

This year, I am challenging myself to use up my scraps, even the smaller ones. The donut on the inside was made using small pieces that I would have had to toss otherwise. It will be a "sweet surprise" for the recipient when they open the card up.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

1) Tuesday Morning Sketches #384
2) Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes"
3) Between the Folds Challenge 37A - Sugar Rush

Recipe:
Paper: Sugar Rush, Hollyhock CS (retired), Whisper CS, White Daisy CS, Sea Glass CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Flower Market, Artfully Sent (CTMH)
Ink: Black (Memento)
Tools: Cricut Artistry, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer, Glue Pen (CTMH)
Other: Smoothie Brads (retired), Aqua Shimmer Trim, 3d Foam Tape (CTMH)

I have a couple of more cards to share with you today for various challenges, so please stop back.

Friendly Pets Birthday Cards

I love to color. This means that I love stamp sets that I can color with. And I found an ink that I can stamp and color without the ink bleeding or blurring. Memento ink is awesome.

Check out my "Friendly Pets" cards below.

I again used the same sketch. I really like that light blue stripe paper combined with the hot pink polka dot.

Hope you find time to craft today.

MOJO478 Hello Lovely Card

I'm back again today with another card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch #478. I am experimenting with baby cards for my sister-in-law, who is due at the end of the month with my baby niece. She sent me an ultrasound picture yesterday and baby is right on track and appears healthy, according to her doctors. We are excited to meet her.

So here is my second baby card (the one I think I will be giving to them).

I love the elegant colors of our new paper collection "Hello Lovely". The patterns remind me of vintage wallpaper. I used retired "Love You Forever" stamp set for the birdies.

Recipe:
Paper: Hello Lovely, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Love You Forever (retired), Artfully Sent (retired) (CTMH)
Inks: Black (Memento), Sorbet (CTMH)
Tools: Circle Die (MFT), Shinhan Markers, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH)
Other: Coral Reef Sequins (retired), Bitty Sparkles, 3d Foam Tape (CTMH), Olive Ribbon (American Crafts)

I hope you get the chance to play along with this sketch, too. It ends on Sunday. Have a great day.

Thanks So Much Times 2

Good morning. I have 2 more thank you cards to share with you today.

The first card is Pinterest inspired. I used similar cuts on the second card, but moved the pennants around to come up with a different look. Normally, I never go "off sketch"....

You can never have enough thank you cards in your stash.

Have a great day!

Good afternoon. I am back today with my third card.

Stamps: Cute Koalas (retired), Artfully Sent (retired) (CTMH)
Inks: Black (Memento)
Tools: Shinhan Markers, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer (CTMH)

CTD424 Thank You Card

Hello. It is extremely cold here right now and blowing snow. This kind of weather always makes me grateful for my warm, snuggly house.

Today, I have 2 cards to share with you that I made with the retired stamp set called "Friendly Pets".

I am entering this card into the Color Throwdown Challenge #CTD424.

I made a second card with the same sketch, but switched out the background paper. Which one do you prefer? I like them both.

Have a terrific day, and if you get a chance, play along with the Color Throwdown. You have until 1/9/17 to enter.

Some Kinda Wonderful Thinking of You Cards

Good morning. I am sharing more cards I made with the Some Kinda Wonderful kit. I like having "generic" themed cards on hand for those moments when I feel like sending out a card just because.

Here are 2:

I played around with some sketches I had on hand, and finally used last year's (really, 2016 is last year already?) special stamp set "Share the Love". I  also added a partial sentiment from the retired Artfully Sent cricut combo. That stamp set has become my go-to for cards. The sentiments are just perfect.

Have a happy, crafty kind of day!

Some Kinda Wonderful PML Cards

Today is a sad day for me. I know that there are parents out there that are happy when their kids return to school from winter break, but I'm sad. Of course, they are likely happy to return and share Christmas break news with their besties.

On that note, I would like to share a pair of cards I created with the Some Kinda Wonderful kit. These cards use the same PML card.

I kept them simple. You may notice on the bottom card that there is paper peeking out from inside. It's a little trick I like to do when trying to use up extra scraps. Why should the front of the card be the only decorated part? The Some Kinda Wonderful assortment comes with sparkly black arrows and I adhered one of them to the inside. A little something unexpected for the recipient to enjoy when they open their card.

One last quick note for you. The new black and white dots featured with this kit are awesome. I have been longing for something similar to my beloved brads. These dots have that flat appearance of a brad, but with shine.

Hope your day is a crafty one!

LTCCB #6 Birthday Card

Good morning.

I'm back again.... Just going to let that sink in. LOL

Cricut Design Space offers free cuts every week. Normally, I'm too busy to take them up on the free cut, but who can resist a snowman?

I think this card will be sent to my mother-in-law, who has a birthday later this month. For now, I am entering it into a new challenge that I found on one of the blogs that I follow. (Thanks, Lori! You never fail to inspire.) It is called "Love to Craft Challenge Blog". This challenge is "Anything Goes" and will run the entire month of January. Love it! Monthly challenges are more my speed.

Enjoy!
