TCPTUES233 Halloween Card

I'm back again tonight with another card...this time, for Halloween.

Here are the 3 challenges I am entering into:

  1. TCP Tuesday #233 Challenge
  2. CTS#3 Challenge
  3. Friday Mashup Challenge #82

Recipe:
Paper: All Hallows Eve (Moxxie LLC), Goldrush CS, Slate CS (CTMH); Stamps: Fright Night, Spellbound (CTMH); Ink: Black (CTMH); Tools: Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, Paper-Piercer, Craft Heater, Craft Tray (CTMH); Other: Clear Detail Embossing Powder (CTMH), Green Brads

Again, this card was a bit of a departure from what I'm used to doing. I like layers. CAS stands for "Clean and Simple". It's hard to tell, but I did do some embossing with this card. Hope you like. Happy Halloween.

Sending out prayers for safety to everyone on the East Coast tonight.

MFTWSC95 Lucy Sends Mail

I spent most of my weekend preparing for my Christmas card workshop coming up on Sunday. I decided to take a small break from that to create something different.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

  1. Inspired By #47 Challenge
  2. My Favorite Things MFTWSC95 Challenge
  3. Casual Fridays CFC76 Challenge

Inspired By #47

Recipe:
Paper: Lucy, Blush CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH), Kraft CS (MFT); Stamp: Pure Innocence-You've Got Mail (MFT); Inks: Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, Heavenly Blue (CTMH); Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Corner Rounder, Sponge Daubers, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen, Glue Pen (CTMH), Scallop Border Punch (SU!); Other: White Daisy Embroidery Floss, Smoothie Brads, Paradise Flower (CTMH)

I was inspired by the pretty wrapped envelopes and color combo in the inspiration photo. I love modern technology, but gosh I wish I had that pretty pink typewriter. LOL I thought the soft color palette could best be enhanced with the fabulous kraft paper from MFT for my card base. Then, there's the sketch...if you know me, you know that I prefer things to be straight on the page. This sketch showed me that I could step out of my "comfort zone" and still love the finished product. (What do you think of my sponge daubering? This was so quick and easy. I can't believe I have never tried that technique before.)

Hope you have a happy, crafty Monday! Stay safe, my East Coast friends.

SSS181 Christmas Card

Good morning!

My weekend was very busy. I held my second Friday night workshop event. It was so nice to catch up with my friends. Saturday morning, I was able to get into my craft room again and create a few cards which I was even able to share with all of you that same day. Awesome! Our Brother and Sister-in-law came up to visit over the weekend, and we had a nice dinner with them on Saturday evening. Jack and Izzy didn't want their cousins to leave.

Sunday morning dawned bright and beautiful. I was able to create one more Christmas card from a beautiful (and fun) sketch before heading to town to do some Christmas shopping. Disney Princesses rule this year for my little girl. Now that my son has turned 6, I am finding it more difficult to shop for him. My brother loved playing with Lego's (as a kid) and even Jack likes them. The trouble is...there are so many to choose from. How do I decide? :)

Well, enough about that. I am ready to share my latest Christmas card with you. I was inspired by the sketch from the Sweet Stop Sketches Blog. This week, their sketch has a twist. It must be movie/book inspired. I turned the sketch sideways to accommodate this little cutie stamp.

Recipe:
Paper: Jingle, White Daisy CS, Tulip CS (CTMH); Stamp: Pure Innocence-Christmas Caroler (MFT); Ink: Chocolate (CTMH); Tools: Snow Dots Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH); Other: Jingle Brads (CTMH)

My Christmas card was inspired by the movie (book and song) "The Christmas Shoes". There is a scene towards the end of the movie where a group of Carolers gather outside of the little boy's home. Every year, when I hear that song, I can't help but cry. It's one of those sad/happy songs that make you feel so blessed with what you have.

This sketch is open until Thursday, 6pm EST, if you'd like to play along. They even have a prize up for grabs. :)

Happy crafting!

MFTWSC94 Snow Day Card

Good evening! I'm back with my second post; trying to squeeze in under the deadline.

When I saw this next sketch, I immediately thought of my new Snow Day stamp set. All paper crafters know the best happy mail you can receive is new craft supplies. Last Thursday, I did my happy dance. :)

I was inspired by the latest sketch at My Favorite Things Blog.

Recipe:
Paper: Wonderland, Chocolate CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH), Snowflake Sentiments (The Paper Company Studio); Stamp: Pure Innocence-Snow Day (MFT); Ink: Chocolate (CTMH); Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen, Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, Sanding Kit (CTMH), Icicle Border Die (MFT), Swiss Dots Embossing Folder (ProvoCraft); Other: Antique Copper Brads (CTMH)

Hope you have a happy, crafty week!

Moonlight Bliss

If you've been following my blog over the past week, you already know that my artwork was featured on Jeanette Lynton's blog last week.
Snowboarder has been Embossed. I used a mix of sentiments from different sets.

Pun Fun was perfect for this card.

Paper-Pieced with Glue Pen, Color-Ready Ribbon sponged with Smokey Plum Ink Pad.

I actually created these projects back in early August. I decided to upload them to Jeanette Lynton's Spotlight on Art instead of showcasing them with the New Product Blog Hop.

Since then, I've learned how to add text to my pictures using a free program called PicMonkey. It's super easy and I wish I had done this earlier. You don't have to download the program to your computer. It also makes editing a snap!

It's a nice, quiet day at work today. Hope you're having a great day!

Mojo Monday #263 Coffee Lover Card

I think this is my last post of the day. I decided to create a different card...meaning that I made a card that wasn't a holiday card. LOL

I was inspired by this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

Recipe:
Paper: Grandma's Attic Collectibles (TPC Studio), Cocoa CS, Colonial White CS (CTMH); Stamps: Enjoy Life (CTMH); Clearly Sentimental About Coffee (MFT); Inks: Twilight, Cocoa (CTMH); Tools: Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer, Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (CTMH), Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug); Other: Brown Sparkles (CTMH), Chocolate Ribbon (American Crafts)

Today's card was inspired by the patterned paper. It made me think of newspaper. When I was a little girl, my dad used to read his morning paper with a cup of coffee (and a cigarette). He would always keep one eye on the clock to be sure he wasn't late for work. After he would leave, my brother and I would pretend to be daddy, by either "smoking" the cigarette stub or drinking the coffee dregs at the bottom of his cup. I can tell you that this experience cured my brother and I of ever wanting to drink coffee or smoke. LOL But the memory always makes me smile.

One last reminder today for you; be sure to stop by here and leave a comment to win an awesome prize package.

A Winning Combination

Happy Friday!

I'm not sure what stars have lined up for me lately, but my name has been popping up everywhere winning scrapbooking products, gift vouchers, and even just bragging rights. It all started in early September over at Moxie Fab World, where I was the lucky winner of an entire line of Cosmo Cricket S'More Love products. A few weeks later, my name was picked at My Favorite Things blog for a gift voucher. Then, a week or so after that, I won a cute Halloween kit put together by Aaron Booth, a fellow CTMH Consultant. Two weeks ago, my name was picked to win the "Love Blooms" stamp over at My Craft Channel blog.

Last week, my Dakota Cowboy card was picked as a winner of gift voucher to MFT. A couple of days ago, my Clementine Fall Favorites (Pumpkin) card won a gift voucher to The Cat's Pajamas. That same evening, I received an e-mail from MFT saying that I won another gift voucher.

Yesterday, I went on a field trip to an apple orchard with my little preschooler. When I got back home to my warm and cozy (dry) home, I checked my e-mails and discovered that my artwork is being featured this week on Jeanette Lynton's website. I won't mince words here; I totally jumped up and down and squealed like my previously mentioned preschooler. Teehee.

So, now that I've done all that, and had great fun with it...I truly believe in paying it forward. I have a fun assortment of items (valued at $36.80) that I would like to give away.

Here's what is up for grabs:
Pemberley L2 Packet ($9.95 Value)
Colonial White CS 6-Pack ($2.95 Value)
School Is Here Stamp ($9.95 Value)
Pun Fun Stamp ($13.95 Value)

a Rafflecopter giveaway Contest ends Wednesday, October 24th at 12:01 AM. This prize drawing is open to everyone. Have a happy, crafty day!

Recipe:
Paper: Florentine, Twilight CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH); Stamp: Heaven Sent (CTMH); Inks: Twilight, Cocoa (CTMH); Tools: Oval Dies (Spellbinders), Paper-Piercer, Glue Pen (CTMH); Other: Cocoa Bitty Brads, Prisma Glitter (CTMH)

Inspired By #45 Milk And Cowboy Cookies

I think this will be my last post for today. We have a wedding reception to attend later, and I was asked to bake some brownies. :)

This project is a bit different than what I usually do. I am entering it into the Inspired By #45 Challenge.

Recipe:
Paper: Stella, Grey Flannel CS, Colonial White CS (CTMH); Stamp: Pure Innocence-Cowboy (MFT); Inks: Chocolate, Grey Wool (CTMH); Tools: Picket Fence Die (MFT), Cricut Artiste Cartridge, Micro-Tip Scissors, Paper-Piercer, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen (CTMH); Other: Neutral Embroidery Floss, Bonding Memories Glue, Liquid Glass (CTMH), Grey Ribbon (American Crafts), Foam Tape

The colors and the actual milk carton inspired this design. It's the first time I've ever created a milk carton, and it was quite a challenge. This little guy will be displayed on my son's book shelf. He gave it two thumbs up. :)

If you click the cookie link above (the plate of cookies), it will take you to a website where you can print out the recipe for these scrumptious treats. We prefer to add peanut butter to our's. :)

Have a happy, crafty day!
