Scrapbook Generation June Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for June. If this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

I made this layout for my daughter's 6th birthday that we celebrated this past month. It is no surprise that I bought a dress to match the paper I planned to use. LOL I knew this sketch was perfect the minute I saw it. I could add a bold title and use one of our gorgeous zip strips that are included with each patterned paper we sell.

Recipe:
Sketch: April 2014 Free Sketch from Create Magazine
Paper: Ariana, White Daisy CS, Sorbet CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Shining Star (retired), Marquee Alphabet, Ariana WOTG, Artbooking (CTMH)
Inks: Sorbet, Crystal Blue, Outdoor Denim, Olive (CTMH)
Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge, Needle (CTMH)
Other: White Embroidery Floss, Outdoor Denim Brads, Sorbet Brads, Olive Brads, White Daisy Brads (all retired - CTMH)

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you want to try it out. Here is a link to CREATE Magazine: http://scrapbookgeneration.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=8

Next on the hop is Lori at My Happy Life Blog. Leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 9th which gives you one week to leave a comment. (What fun!) Thank you for stopping by today.

In case you get lost at any point, here is the list of all the blogs:

  4. Thanks for sharing! The layout and material selections are the perfect complement for the pics. Looks like the party was fun. Okay, I have to ask, what is a zip strip?

    1. I normally reply through email so you are able to receive this, but don't have any contact info. for you, Diane. So I hope that you are able to come back and read this. I think that it may be something "coined" by Close To My Heart Consultants. At the top of our 12x12 patterned papers, also known as B&T (background & texture paper), we have a 1/2" strip. The wordy strip that is located below the "Celebrate" title is one example of a "zip strip" that comes with this beautiful kit. A lot of SG's sketches have 1/2" pieces so these zip strips work wonderfully with SG. What a perfect match! Thanks for the question and the kind compliment!
